DID WE MAKE ANY PROGRESS SINCE THE EARLY DAYS OF COMMUNICATION RESEARCH? The questions remained largely the same. The answers remained largely unsatisfactory. The theories remained largely non-existent. And yet, some new perspectives emerged that may turn out to make a difference if the institutional organization of communication research can facilitate more creative, inspirational and extra-disciplinary expeditions that may not discover new lands but help our epistemic community to “look with new eyes” (Marcel Proust).
