The commensurability/incommensurability model as developed by the first author allows for negotiating, comparing and incorporating thoughts and ideas across knowledge paradigms, and also for developing theories that are rooted in the local context but at the same time allowing the Local Self to connect with its Global Others. The proposed model on guanxi orientation will be empirically tested via two independent samples. Construct reliability, structural validity, and cross-cultural applicability will be explored.
